Custom digital gumshields, made in Galway.
Setanta Gumshields is run by Eanna Callanan, based in Crinnage, Craughwell, Co. Galway. Eanna also runs Dentures Direct, a separate denture care business at the same clinic.
A custom digital gumshield starts with a digital intra-oral scan of your mouth, no putty, no gooey impressions. The scan is used to individually design the gumshield to the exact shape of your mouth, which is then laboratory manufactured and professionally fitted and checked before it is issued.
This is different from a shop-bought boil-and-bite gumshield, which you soften in hot water and bite into yourself, with no scan and no professional fitting.
We work with adult players and with GAA clubs and teams. Clubs and teams can be scanned on site at their own club or team facility, as well as at the clinic in Craughwell.
How it works
The digital intra-oral scan.
Instead of a putty impression, we use a digital intra-oral scanner to capture the exact shape of your teeth and gums in a couple of minutes. There is no gooey material to bite into and no gagging on a tray of putty. The scan can be taken at our clinic in Craughwell or, for clubs and teams, at your own club or team facility.
